This is my version:
A shin-dig celebrates how we express ourselves to show our beleifs and values and how we value our friends and family.

What part of the them, of, Who We Are, is your Exhbition really about?
We are celebrating who we are. Our cultures make who we are. The culture or religon that we have makes our lifestyle, what foods we eat and who we worship. What it means to be human means what every human likes or has like family, friends and culture wether we have one or not, we still have tradititions wether it be drinking tea in the evening or only computers for Sundays. It makes who we are. All that is the base of who we are. Maybe not everyone may like music but in our class, our whole class likes it. We build upon culture, family, friends and how we are unique.
Why I chose my background
My background is supposed to be mountains. I like mountains becuase they look cool and they are so high and I like cold weather. At the tops of mounains, it is cold becuase they are high altitude and they are high. They also are my favorite colors- some are blue and white and some are brown and some are green. I also like mountains because they are fun to climb. When you go up, and you look down, they view is amazing. I like the view so much. Thats why I chose this background even though they background isn't working yet.
Reflection On Dance
I think that the dance went well. Everybody was having fun either watching or dancing. Even my older brother admitted that our exhibition was better than his. The food was great. My baby brother who rarely eats loved the food even though he barely ate any. The songs were good and the people on the stage were having fun. It didn't seem like exhibition. There was one major flaw. At the end, nobody really went to their shift. They just danced on the stage. Even the shy kids danced. My sister was dieing to make a hat but she thought that she couldn't because nobody was there at the station. Overall, I think that the dance went well. We got a lot of book donations. Many people still snuck in without permission slip or book. They"said" that they were going to bring it in on Monday. Many extended day kids still snuck in also even though they were not in fifth grade. I also saw many non-fifth grade extended day kids dancing outside of the cafeteria. My mom who really doesn't listen to music had a good time. My mom also found out that my mom is an old friend of Phillips. My brother, mother and sister liked the Michael Jackson dance. It was too bad that I had to go to Brownsville at 5:45. I got there at 1:30 in the morning. I was just glad that my parents let me go because I was supposed to go at 3:30 and get there at 9:00. I was glad that my parents were flexible. Again, overall, the dance was amazing. My fifth grade friends also liked it even they didn't dance.

Exhibition Reflection: Accomplishments
Our group is almost done. We have to make the family slide show and Felicia wants to finish the class slide show. We have some pictures from the family. I am helping Alina in the decorations group make streamers. We have to make 4 or 5. So far, we have 1 and a half. I think that we are going to work quick if we want to finish. Today, we are going to start the family slide show from who sent me the pictures then I am going to work on the streamers. We are going to finish the family by Tuesday if everyone send the pictures on time. We are going to be done with the streamers if we go fast. Last time, me Alina and Tanny made an assembly line which goes so much faster than before.
Obstacles
In this class, there are many obstacles that are sidetracking us from completing our exhibition. Here are some and the ways to solve them:
- hats- The hats group is having a tough time. They have to make like 80 more in a short amount of time. We could all paint two a day. That way, we will get done faster and we could make more.
- food- Our whole class thinks that people will not bring food. The staff is trying to bring food but the food has to be cultural. I could bring some food like jalebi or samosa.
- appropriate- The songs may have some fowl language. There is a song filter that my dad used to use but I don't know what the website is. Also, if you type in the song and it says "clean version", then it has a bad word. You could also type in yahoo answers, "Does (song name) have a bad word?"
- I don't think that there can be anymore "fun" songs. I barely know 1/8 of the songs on the playlist. Thats why I didn't go in the music group.

Songs
I forgot to put this on my mix pod songs post. I didn't put this song on my mix pod. I actually sort of like classic songs like Beethoven. I don't know why but I like the catchy beat and it's relaxing. A lot of people might think that I am weird but I don't care. I like Beethoven's 31 symphony. I just don't know why but I like it.

Songs
These are the songs that I chose-
- Eat it
- I gotta a feeling
- Boom boom pow (clean)
- The Final Count Down
I chose them because I like them. I don't always listen to music but when I do, I listen to those but there are more.
Attitudes and Learner Profile
In exhibition, you have to show commitment. There is not a lot of time left and you have to use time wisely and you can't give up. This is a major project. The other attitude that you have to show is cooperation. There are people in your group and if you don't work good with people, you will not get this done because this is a group project. The learner profiles that you have to be is reflective and open-minded. You have to be reflective because you are doing journal entries in you blog. You have to be open-minded because other people may have ideas but you will not get you want. You have to be optimistic. Other people may have ideas that you don't like but it might happen.
My Group
I am doing tech1 (slide show). In my group, there is Felicia, Kevin, myself and Eric. My job is camera guy and putting the surveys into scentences. Felicia's job is to make the slideshow. Eric is helping Felicia and Kevin is helping me. Exhibtion is going to work and it's not going to work. I think that mos tof the things are going to get done but it is not going to go as planned. I don't think that people are going to bring food, books and drinks. I just have a feeling.
Who We Are:Dance
The dance ties into who we are because it has to do with our culture. We all like having fun and music. We all also value education. We are going to collect books as your ticket in and they are going to be sent to a shelter. Some of the kids in our class parents are divorced. The dance is having fun and music. There is also going to be cultural food. The groups are hats/costumes, tech1 (slide show), tech 2 (funny videos), food/advertising/book drive and music.

Feelings Now On Exhibition
I feel better about exhibition now. I now know that it is about what we beleive and not just a topic. I now have a better view on who I connect to because we did the essay's. I thought that it wsas just pick groups then do project. I now know that alot of things go into exhibition and that there is a lot of steps. In a nutshell, I feel better and I have a better view on how it will go.
Connections On Essays
I think that I connected to a lot of people. I connect to Amrith, Sam, Alina, Tanny, Maya, Kevin, Subhya, and Felicia because we all eat traditional foods from our culture. I am connected to Alina because I believe in honesty and that your unnecessary comments should be kept to yourself. I connect to Phillip and Amrith because I like basketball. I also connect to Angela, Henry and Amrith because I value peace.
I think that August, Alex, Sam and Bayley connect because they mentioned that they watched TV to keep calm. I can see how Kevin and Amrith connect because they like math.
As a class, we all like to enjoy life and keep calm. We all eat cultural foods from our culture wether we are Muslim, Christian or Hindu. We all also try to keep healthy and keep active. We all also go to school which is a community. There are things that everyone agrees about and there are things that some people disagree with others.

Reflection On Essay's
I knew all about myself. It wasn't really an essay because there was no research. It was really easy to get it onto paper. I tried not to think of it as an essay but who I am. I now realize more of what exhibition is about because it is about us and our beliefs. I just thought that we were assigned a topic. I think that I did my best on the "essay." I didn't really know what my values were till now.
Other Peoples Essay's
I learned a lot about other people. I wasn't surprised that Sam wanted to drive at age 13. He enjoys doing things at a young age. I didn't know that Phillip did so many things to stay healthy. I was surprised that someone said that EVERYONE has to believe in Christ. I never knew that Maya was Korean. I never knew that Alina was Catholic. A lot of people hide who they are but this really makes you say who you are.

Who We Are Essay
I like vanilla. The reason why I like it is because chocolate is too heavy in your mouth. I like basketball. My dad said that I should play because I am taller than most kids of my age. When I tried, I liked it. I like to travel. My favorite place that I have went to is a national park in Pakistan. I don't like to stay home all day long. I have had it once but I really like coconut cream pie. I went to a place in Miami and it was good.
I believe in honesty. You will make a chain of right things when you tell a person and they tell someone else. I also believe that every child should be treated fairly. Kids would not feel bad and they would like school a little bit more if they got bullied. I also believe in think before you act. That way, you make the right decision that does not hurt others. I also believe that kids should take school a little bit more seriously. If they want to get school over with, they have to pass to not make school any longer that it should be.
I value peace. If everyone would get along, every one would have a better life. I also value resting time or sleeping. After a long day, people would not get worked out and non-energetic. People should get at least 8 hours of sleep. I also value math, reading and science. I value math because you have to pay tax and you have to calculate how much you owe. I value reading because you have to be able to read. I value science because I like it. I also value the wii because I like to play games when I am bored.
To keep myself healthy or have personal health, I take medicine when I am sick. You know that what your taking will most likely help you and there is no loop holes in the medicine. I play outside to keep myself healthy. I also do hygiene stuff like I wash my hands before I eat.
In my social life, I use Gmail. I can talk to people while I am at home. I go to the park to play basketball with people for an hour. I can't do that at school for a long time. I also go to parties to meet with friends. At school, I will rate myself a 9.0 of being myself. At home, I rate myself a 10.0 for being myself.
For spiritual health, I think about my religion. My religion is Islam. I speak Arabic and Urdu because my parents are from Pakistan. I celebrate Eid 2 times a year and I get gifts. I celebrate the second one to celebrate after fasting (Ramadan). I celebrate the first one in June because of the tradition of a prophet sacrificing a sheep for god (Eid ul-adha). Since I am Muslim, I fast in August. I eat at 5:00 am. then eat at 7:30 pm. We do that to remind ourselves that poor people and people in the desert don't have anything to eat or drink. They only eat one meal a day. I also go to the masjid on Sundays and Saturdays. I go to school there and I pray. My parents drink tea in the evening. My whole extended family drinks tea at that time because someone that I don't know started the tradition. I also eat traditional food like daal chawal which is lentils with rice.
In human relationships, I sometimes get into sibling fights. We might disagree on something. I sometimes disagree to what my parents say like I have to go to the mall because my dad is at work and my mom wants to go. I can't stay home alone. I get along more with my aunts and uncles. I have found other ways to keep myself busy.
I think that as a human, you are entitled to have freedom of religion. Without that, I wouldn't be here today. I also think that as a human, everyone is entitled to have easy access to food, water and shelter. You need all that to survive.
I think that as a parent, you have the responsibility to supply kids with resources. Kids can only do so much by their selves. They also have to pay tax. That's how people keep their house. As a kid, at home, I have the responsibility to do homework, do my chores and take care of my baby brother. My parents depend on me when they are busy to take care of my baby brother when he cries. At school, I have the responsibility to stay in school, be respectful and complete the assigned task that is given. That's what school is about. Being human to me is gaining knowledge. If you can't read, how will you be an adult. .
In a community, things that make up a community is people getting along. That's how people cooperate. I am part of Gmail, school, a masjid and a neighborhood. That is made of people interacting. Fights breakup a community. That's the opposite of people getting along.

Beleifs and values: attitudes
At home, I showed commitment. One time, I made flashcards for all the words in the science text book. The was 376 words. I did it on flashcard machine. It took me 5 and a half hours to complete it.
At school, I showed curiosity. I ask questions about different things. I may ask, "When is it due?".
I sometimes don't show enthusiasm. For things that I like for example, I like science projects. In reading passages and answering the questions, I am not that enthusiastic.

Feelings and thoughts about exhibition
Sameer: Personal, physical, mental and social health spoke to me. You could be emotionally calm and you could have a good, balanced life. I could do peer pressure, gangs, divorce, depression. I could send a letter to hisd about peer pressure. I could send a letter o the government about gangs. I cant do much about depression or divorce.

Journal Energy #1: What are your feeling about exhibition? How Do You Think It Will Go?
I am nervous and lost about exhibition. I think that I will get it later. I do not know what to do and how to do it. I think that its just that we barely started it. I still think that it will go well. I would be happy if there was a group because there is 2 types of projects. There is group and alone. This is a group because this is a big project. I think that I connect to some kids. I know a little bit of exhibition because I saw my brother do it.
